We’ve started the prep work for the parking lot renovation at Sunny Hill Park today (3/29/19). A silt fence has been installed around the project site, and we’ve removed some of the existing sidewalks to prepare for the upcoming concrete work. This project is very weather-dependent, so the construction timeline is and will be sporadic depending on that day’s conditions. Accordingly, we need to limit the public’s exposure and interference with the construction site.
Due to safety and liability concerns, the Sunny Hill Park parking lot off of Irving Park Road will be closed until further notice. The contractor will be barricading the entrance when they leave the site. The park can still be accessed from the North side of the park. This decision was made based on the current progress, as well as potential safety hazards.
There is no set completion date yet. We will keep everyone posted with progress during this entire process.
